EURO 2008

HAHA! Finally the European Championship is here, without England the boring team.
Normally the winning team is somewhat related to either Champions League or any other special occasions.
Last EURO, Greece won just months before they hosted the Olympics in Athens. Italy won the World Cup when they are troubled by the match fixing scandal.

Let's start our prediction for the winning team this time round with the following tests(sounds like a chemical lab experiment process):

1)There will be Olympics, but the host is China, so OUT!
2)Match fixing troubled country? The only I can think of is Porto, so Portugal?
3)Relationship with UEFA Champions League result? ManUTD=English, so OUT!
4)Champions League final venue host> Moscow. So Russia?
5)EURO host country>Switzerland and Austria. Do you think Austria will win? LOL! (No offense to Austria fans) So Switzerland?
6)Mr Ronaldo's mega million pounds transfer rumour link. So Portugal?

Haha. Still can't come to any conclusion. But what i predict is a quarter-final place for Switzerland as the host team, Russia in the quarter as well since Hiddink is the manager, Spain having trouble scoring despite all the possession, Ronaldo not performing up to standards, Luka Modric playing well as well as his country Croatia(They will have a good campaign with Slaven Bilic as manager!), Holland to under perform again with their over-obsession of playing attacking football and with the manager concentrating more on his future with Ajax, Czech not playing well with their aging key players, Germany to play like machines and heavily dependent on Ballack, France and to underperform as well with their aging team.
